We are proposing to do a Pop Up S.T.R.E.A.M. event at the Liberty Community Center. STREAM being Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering and Mathematics will partner with several organizations to provide engaging STEM content. 5Starr Enterprise LLC, provide demonstrations of Math Thru Music, Jay D coding Kits, Sound Clash Kit and more.
Math Thru Music teaches D Jin using mathematical principals. Encouraging students to gain an understanding and develop a level of comfort with numeracy through hands-on musical learning.

For the past 3 years, we have worked with the Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival Inc., in their Education Village, provides complementary demos of Math Thru Music to the youth. For the past two years, we have participated with the Baltimore County Leaders & Citizens to engage the community in STEM.

B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. is the brainchild of married Baltimore native Kendrick “DJ5Starr” Tilghman, MBA. A professional DJ, electrical engineer and social entrepreneur, Mr. Tilghman founded B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. as a way to give back to the educational community. His mission is to empower young people and adults to take advantage of the rewarding possibilities thanks to S.T.E.M.
Mr. Tilghman started B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. by employing the tools of his DJ trade to engage young people. The students were thrilled to get hands on experience with the latest DJ equipment, while learning how every letter in S.T.E.M. is used in the DJ industry. As B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. has expanded, so has the scope of educational offerings.
Since 2008, Mr. Tilghman and his team have created an extensive curriculum that merges education, music and technology. At the most basic level, young students learn how math is needed to calculate the beats per minute. Advanced students appreciate the roles that binary code, digital code and the physics of kinetic energy play in the DJ industry.
Mr. Tilghman and the B.E. M.O.R.E. S.T.E.M. team travel extensively, bringing these initiatives to students around the region and across the country.
